FLL to Anywhere!

Currently based just north of Ft Lauderdale. Just finished the certs for bareboat mono/cat chartering (ASA 101/103/104/114), have short-term lived aboard 40' Lagoon and 37' PS Crealock, and am looking for sailing expense covered/non-contribution crew positions to gain experience and better my sailing skills. I want to get open water PADI certified in the relatively near future, snorkel, sail, hike and just go exploring. ;-)

Sailing gigs could either be on the "no-frills/ tight schedule/ delivery" scenario or more of a "leisurely/ no schedule/ chill-axin/ vacation mode" kind of thing - or anywhere in between. I may like looking like a girly-girl but have no problem getting dirty and working my ass off. My main goal right now is just to get sea miles...

My schedule is very flexible and can accommodate just about any situation if all the other factors line up. I also plan to vlog my experiences and share these adventures with others so I'd love to be around people who could get into that concept as well. My goal in that would be to create a bit of income to further my adventures ;-)

I'm quite a capable cook/stew (would actually prefer to be allowed to take the lead on provisioning). I have a US Passport and clean driver's license, am a non-smoker/social drinker, no criminal background. I'm a quick study with a sincere desire to travel and immerse myself in the sailing world!

Professionally - I'm currently on sabbatical from teaching yoga and practicing Reiki and Yoga Nidra (meditation). Prior to that, a Regional Developer/Franchise Owner for fitness studios in 2 states and the owner/operator for administrative services consulting business.

Aqua-Taz: I'm not sure I understand you. Are you a skipper with a boat (and no set destination) or another crew person looking to travel?

Great! Can you send me some info regarding your sailing experience (miles, passages, licenses, etc), boat (make/model, amenities/upgrades, safety equip), your current location and what itinerary you plan to navigate, what sort of financial arrangements you intend, etc. Whatever other info you think may help me decide if this is an opportunity worth exploring is welcome too!

Hey wattz up?

My name is Jamie. I just seen your post and may have something you might be interested in.

In summary, im a 42 y/o captain and am in Lauderdale as well where i was born and raised and owned various Watersports businesses.

Anyhow, too many details for here, but im preparing to bounce my Morgan M35 to South America, tentatively via the leeward and windwards (scenic route) where i have a contract ro run charters.

Unfortunately, my brother who i sailed over 10k with on an Oday 28 ( and published a critically acclaimed book about it) succumb to a Sirens Song and left me grounded.

I just rode out Irma on the Hook and need to bounce soon.

If you're interested drop me a line and ill provide you with the details and references.

Calm Seas, Fair Winds and Safe Harbor.

Re: FLL to Anywhere!

Hi Arlee,
I am currently in St. Lucia and have various friends and family coming down to sail over the next few months. i am trying to fill in some open time periods between my guests. I was checking to see if that might be of interest to you. some time slots are Feb-25-March 6 in the Guadeloupe area, March 30-April 12 sailing from Guadeloupe to Martinique, and April 23-May 4 sailing from Martinique to Grenada. If any of this sounds interesting to you let me know.

Re: FLL to Anywhere!

**UPDATE FEB 2018**

Hey all! Wish I could edit the original post but that doesn't seem to be a feature... I am on a 6mo trek and sadly unavailable to sail til October-ish 2018. I appreciate the interest and please feel free to reach out if your sailing plans are flexible or if you're planning ahead.

OR

If you happen to be sailing in the Indonesia/SE Asia area May-August and need one blue water experienced sailor (updated sailing resume in bio) AND an eager newbie - we may just be able to connect!
