I spent more of my youth in the day job in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal than was required for healthy 'development of character'.

SW monsoon around Socotra and Ras Hafun is no fun.
NE monsoon - which is the season in question = bonzer weather.

My boat - currently in Ecuador - did the trip.
Prior to my ownership she had come from Suez to Phuket - bit of an extended voyage - 4 months in the Red Sea etc. This was pre piracy - lots of boats did it at that time . Not sure of the season.

After I bought her we did Phuket- Carnarvon in April / May
