HELP NEEDED GETTING THROUGH PORT CANAVERAL LOCK

Hi, My name is Gordon and I have a fairly specific issue I am at anchor outside of the Port Canaveral inlet and I'm trying to get through to the intercoastal waterway. I understand that there is a lock system that you have to navigate to get through there and I am a solo sailor so it would be very difficult if not impossible for me to go through this lock alone. I am looking for anyone who can come on my boat and assist me in going through the lock up to the other side of the intercoastal.
I AM PREPARED TO PAY FOR THE HELP.

Re: HELP NEEDED GETTING THROUGH PORT CANAVERAL LOCK

I've never been through that lock so don't know the conditions there or if they have any requirements, but I've locked a 42 catamaran singlehanded, albeit where there was not much drop.

You might contact the lock master to see what he says. Perhaps time it when there is little differential.

I have to agree with ggray. My wife and I have taken our 43 ft boat through over 30 locks, from the tiny harbor lock in Quebec City to the big freighter locks on the St Lawrence River, as well as the Erie canal and the Dismal Swamp canal. While we were double-handed which certainly makes it easier, with the right conditions it is not a challenging task for single-handing.

Yeah, don't over think it. It is as easy as an easy docking situation. I found the lock master a bit snarky but the actual docking was simple.
