Hola from Cuba :-)

Hola from Cuba :-)

Or maybe I should say pan pan from Cuba :-)

Would there, by any chance, be anyone out there who happens to be in Cuba at the moment with the intention of sailing to either Jaimaca, Caymans, Haiti, Turks and Caicos or anywhere else from here in a southerly direction SOON please ?

Obviously willing to work and pay exes for passage, and profile will show my experience.

At the moment I'm in Santiago de Cuba, but can travel to ANY port in the country, and running out of cash. Cash being needed on account of losing my cards in Mexico before arriving in Cuba and, due to the apparently bad Cuban postal / DHL service out here, which I have to add is the ONLY bad thing, apart from a very temperamental Wi-Fi, I've heard or seen in this wonderful country so far, my replacement cards are going to be sent to me at my next port of call.

I have enough for a flight out, and a little more, via the Embassy in Havana but as this is fast running out I unfortunately need to leave the country fairly soon.

If there is anyone out there able to answer this call I would be most appreciative.

Many thanks, seasons greetings, good seas and fair winds to all

Mitch

Hi Mitch- am in marina Hemingway just west of Havana, boat watching and like you, looking to sail out to the south. Reply and visit should you make it this way. Aboard a power cruiser currently, Tranquila, here till after the new year. Cheers MJ

Re: Hola from Cuba :-)

Hi John,

Unfortunately yours, in spite of LOTS of views, was the only reply I got so guessing not many boats around. Had to bite the bullet in the end and fly, so am now in Kingston Jamaica. On the good side though I should be solvent again in a couple of days when my cards come through :-)

If you're heading same way then let me know if you come across any opportunities and I'll do the same.

Will spend some time here seeing Jamaica and then, if no boats come up, will probably fly out of Montego Bay to Puerto Rico

Fair winds and good seas
