just quit my job... ready to go!

Ahoy AHOY!
as the title says...
I put my quitting notice in at work yesterday and am ready for a sea based adventure!

ABOUT ME...
well, I am about to be 35 but sure don't look it.
young face, open mind, strong beating heart, physically fit.
I've got somewhere between 1000 - 2000 NM of coastal cruising under my belt on sailboats ranging from 30 - 60 feet.
I am confident behind the wheel and working sails but my weak points are navigation and mechanics [both things I hope to learn more about on my next voyage].
at the moment I live in Seattle.
winter is coming and I desire warmer waters!

looking to find somebody out there doing a circumnavigation/ocean crossing/or at least a long stint island hopping that is adventurous themselves.
ideally a young couple or a few friends that are taking it slow and soaking everything in.
but I would happily join a solo sailor of any age if I think we'll really mesh well.
anchorages, snorkeling, fishing, exploring towns... this is my kind of style.

I can cook, climb coconut trees, catch/gut/scale/fillet a fish, and freedive 50 feet to get a tool should one ever find it's way overboard
strong swimmer in general!

feel free to investigate my couchsurfing profile to learn a bit more and read some references...

I should also add that I am willing to travel to get to the boat.
inside or outside of the U.S. does not matter to me.
I'll join in wherever you are as long as it's accessible for me to get there.

Hey Kip,

I'll be sailing from Los Angeles, down the Pacific Coast of Baja to La Paz with plenty of stops along the way... ought to be a fun adventure.

I've come full circle and it's time to get back where I belong on the water.

I spend my summers sailing my small 22' English style bilge keel on the Bras d'Or Lakes.

STCW 95 Bridgewatch + Competent Helmsman Testimonial
4th Class Power Engineer Ticket
Carpentry skills I have obtained the last 25 years under a local boat builder and master carpenter.... my old man.
Numerous safety tickets and OHS training.
Competent in small engine troubleshooting and repair, the positive side of usually buying everything 2nd hand I guess.

35 years young, jack of all trades I guess you could say. I'm open to any adventure and will clear my schedule for the right opportunity !!!

I like good people, good laughs, good beer and love to learn. Looking forward to this next chapter wherever it may take me. First time I've been truly excited about something in a few years to be honest.

Any information, suggestions, or opportunities you can pass along will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me, hopefully see you on the water.

Cheers
