Looking for Skipper in Sept. Sea Bright NJ to Havre de Grace MD

Hello,

Im looking to get this C&C 30 Mk 1 sailed/motored from its present marina in Sea Bright NJ to Havre de Grace MD (or somewhere similar). Flexible timing but sometime in late August thru September.

I feel comfortable getting her from that area to our home in St Michaels MD (but not so much on the coast of NJ).

Please PM if interested.

Thanks!

Do you have any friends to help you? If so, you could easily move the boat yourself. With the right weather will be a great experience/confidence builder.

Will need to come around Sandy Hook then go to Atlantic City (if needed take a slip at the casino). From AC to Cape May (could take a slip or anchor out).
From CM leave 2 hrs before low tide and go thru the CM Canal (I believe your air draft is less than 54') to the Del. Bay. Should be able to make it thru the C&D and in to the Chesapeake to anchor over night in the Bohemia or Sassafras. From there you can make it to St. Michaels. (Going to Havre de Grace is a bit out of the way).

Just make certain everything is functional and it will be a fun trip.

That actually was my initial thought - I could do that with a buddy (met during a class at Annapolis Sailing school). At least he has a pretty good fndtn for sailing. It seems like a big jump from puttering around in the Chesapeake to doing coastal ocen sailing from Sandy Hook to Cape May. I am adventurous

Thank you it will remain an option for me to look into!

Would add Manasquan Inlet as a decent NJ inlet, if AC s too far for the first leg. This inlet (like the others) is usually really busy on weekends, so would recommend making the trip during the week if possible.

Re: Looking for Skipper in Sept. Sea Bright NJ to Havre de Grace MD

Hello I will send you a PM but I have made this trip dozens of times in power and sail in both directions and have been in and out of most of the navigable NJ inlets at least a handful of times. As a highly experienced professional captain and coach, I can assure you that you will benefit immensely and make a big jump in your sailing skills and confidence that will not likely come from an amateur or casual sailor along for the ride. Please visit www.foerfront.com and contact me. Thank you.
