Crew Available: Looking To Gain Experience - Madeira

Hi,

I'm a 38 years old guy at the beginning of my sailing journey. I live on Madeira at the moment with a plan to go cruising the world within the next couple of years. I have no sailing experience, apart from few times on a dinghy, but I'm very eager to learn.

Roughly, this is my plan: first do the theoretical courses and gain enough basic sailing experience to go for Day Skipper certification. After that I will probably start looking for a boat (35-40 ft) and eventually move to where the boat is in order to prepare it, and of course practice, practice, practice. Within two years I hope to get on my way.

I live on the east side of Madeira near Machico, not very far from Quinta do Lorde Marina. I can offer you a pair of hands, if you need them. I also have a car, so I can drive you around to get things done. In exchange I would like you to show me around your boat and possibly do some day sailing.

So if you ever stop at Madeira and need an extra pair of hands in exchange of some basic sailing experience, please let me know.
