Exclamation Need Help in Fernandina Beach, FL this weekend

We need to move our Oyster 66 Sailboat this weekend due to a storm that’s incoming. Unfortunately only one of us is on the boat.

While the marina staff has offered to help, based on their performance when we arrived and had 4 people on the boat- we’re not fully that they can help given the wind and current in the area and their own potential staffing challenges. Good people, though.

My husband Bill is on the boat and needs to move it on Friday or Saturday. We need ideally 1-2 individuals on the boat to help. And in the best of all scenarios, these folks would potentially stay on the boat or return to the boat for the actual storm should lines/fenders etc need to be dealt with. We took a beating in our current location 10 days ago in 40 Knots of wind. The new spot should be better, but we’d like extra hands to be sure. I am in San Francisco so it’s a long haul for me to get back to do so and hence the request for help. Yes, we’re willing to pay for the time.

Re: Need Help in Fernandina Beach, FL this weekend

Thank you all- We were able to get our assistance as needed and just in time. It's blowing again like crazy and the swell on the outside of the docs is dramatically different than the inside. We're still heeling 5 degrees on the inside due to the wind (~30-40 knots), but it's a much smoother ride; especially as we'll be here for a while. Thanks to the @fernandinaharbormarina staff for their assistance.

Hello Lisa & Bill
...glad everything worked out. I'm in Ormond Beach if you need help in the future. I've been sailing for 25 years, mostly coastal but have also crewed on deliveries to the Bahamas and Providence, R.I. Oyster 66 must be a dream! Cheers
