Crew Available: New Delivery Captain

Hello,

I have 20 years of sailing experience, and I just earned my 50 ton near coastal license with sailing and towing endorsements. Does anyone have good advice they wish to offer for someone considering doing contract deliveries? I have done some deliveries before, but it was always for the experience, not to make money.

I am in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I am interested in working locally, or taking several weeks to work nationally, or internationally once the travel ban is lifted.

Other questions I have are: What kind of legal considerations and precautions should I be thinking about if I have paid crew? I would have the yacht's owner add me to their insurance as an authorized user, but does the crew need to have insurance or will liability default to the captain if there is an incident? What is the best method to bill clients?

I am just getting started and appreciate any advice!
