Opportunity - Bermuda to San Jan Puerto Rico

Delivery skipper Dave Skolnick is looking for two additional crew (total of five) to sail a J/160 named “Danza” from Bermuda to San Juan PR. He is taking the boat to her new owner. Dave plans to leave Bermuda on or about 13 Mar 2021. Plan for five days underway and two prep days, for some bureaucracy, a travel day, and some margin for delays (11 Mar as travel day). Departure may be delayed due to weather.

He adds:

“The boat is a 2002 J/160. The boat was well maintained by the previous owner but spent over a year on the hard in Deltaville VA while for sale. Dave was onboard during the survey. A copy of the listing is available. Satellite tracker on board so family and friends can follow our progress and limited email over HF/SSB/Pactor while at sea. Note that the boat does have an Espar diesel heater for chilly nights.

The boat left Deltaville in January headed to Puerto Rico but diverted to Bermuda due to a parted shroud and a crew injury. The shroud has been repaired, the rig inspected, and a number of punch list items have been addressed in Bermuda.

Skipper Dave Skolnick has been delivering boats for nearly twenty years. Crew interests underway including routing, piloting, navigation, communications, sail trim, provisioning and other logistics, and more can be addressed on board. Dave’s sailing resume is available at https://AuspiciousWorks.com/delivery...CK_sailing.pdf .”

As usual the passage is free, but you need to get to and from the boat. All costs on board are covered including travel authorizations to Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Dave explains his take on Covid testing about Puerto Rico on his web site at https://AuspiciousWorks.com/delivery/COVIDpolicy.pdf . Shore support is in place for filing travel authorization applications for entrance to PR. Dave has sailed to PR and USVI previously during COVID.

For those entertained by such things, you can follow us https://AuspiciousWorks.com/track.html . We're all on board in Bermuda. PCR tests tomorrow to get back into the US, rig tuning Monday morning, and departure Tuesday morning after big weather passes. Pretty much everything has worked as planned and crew has had lots of time to explore Dockyards and now St George's.
