No, I have not. I do know of them, and had thought about making contact last year because our situations were similar in some ways. I'll check them out. Are they heading to NZ?

Well they were looking at heading to NZ in the next couple of weeks, but are awaiting further information from someone. If they have to, looks like they will go soon.

The answer is it depends. You need to spend a certain amount to begin to qualify. Suffice to say if you turn up in a 12 metre sloop the crew have no chance of being deemed " essential workers "
This may go some way to explain the "rules" Clearly it's a case by case basis.
Amazed they got refused but no idea why.
