Hello, I am looking to get into yachting as I have just moved to Bournemouth with this the main reason for the move. I would be a wiling deckhand and help with repairs etc. I am an easy going guy with a GSOH, I work in construction as my day job. I live on the coast at Southbourne BH16 I am fit and healthy and a genuine honest hardworking guy.

Hi Mike, as a long standing professional skipper based in the UK, it would help if you outlined any experience in marine and/or sailing. It will give a better understanding to readers of this particular forum what you can do and what you can actually turn your hand to.

As to sailing/boating generally and to get a feel for it, you're in a good place on that part of the coast. Visit marinas, boat yards and, yes, look through the plethora of Facebook groups - you won't be alone!
