Also looking for instructor to train/test/certify crew of 3-4 on the same boat.

You make a good point, but still that's too coy. I'm going to wait until we have a named storm heading right for the boat, *then* look for a captain.

Contrary to the CF “experts” boat movements don’t stop during this time of year. I was in Grenada last month, have a Panama to St Petersburg job pending and spoke to the OP about this one. Catch a 5-day window at the start and you are golden. But have a satellite system to get constant weather updates.

The reality is that there are weather windows that open and close. If you are familiar with the weather patterns, it is fairly straightforward. The GFS model is decent and the European even better.

Competent pros using prudent planning can safe move boats all year without issues. I have heard of some guys talking about the 35kt winds they hit….. That is why satellite weather updates are so important.

Using some poster’s logic, we should shut down Gulf Stream crossings during the winter also…
