Trenton or Oswego/Lake Ontario to central NJ, USA

Hi All,

I am in need of some assistance, looking to get a general feel for if anyone is actually interested in a trip like this.

I have recently came into possession of a Bayfield 29 sailboat, which I am very interested in working on and sailing. I live in central NJ currently and the boat is in Trenton, Ontario. I already own it and have available all paperwork. In order to bring the boat home I will need to motor through many NY locks along the canal, which I have heard requires at least two people in order to hold a line at both ends of the boat, and so I am not confidant to do it alone safely. I am looking to take a leisurely trip from Ontario back to my home territory (most likely Morgan Marina at this point) - no strict schedule to follow, most likely take many stops in the NY towns along the way. Anyone interested could either meet me in Trenton to get in some 8-10 hours of sailing across the lake to Oswego, or could meet in Oswego if they are missing a passport for example. I do not have a strict pickup date but I would like to begin the journey either in late May or early June. Suggestions welcome.

Please let me know if you are interested, have some suggestions or questions for me. I am pretty much cool with anything.

Thanks and have an awesome day.

I saw this and thought it might be interesting however I might not be available until May 29. I have traveled the locks thru a section of the NY canel system locks and having hands at both the front and back of the vessel does make life much easier. If interested and would like more information feel free.

Would be interested. See profile for experience. We know the area having lived in Belleville many years ago.
