UK to Canaries, then onto the Carib

Morning all,

Looking for crew from UK to Canaries, then on to the Caribbean (likely Barbados as first port of call). Boat is a 42ft cruising cat that’s just been refitted and is going through the last of it’s shakedown testing as I type this. My sailing experience is a 34ft O’day I sailed through the Keys and Bahamas, then a 42ft steel ketch that I refitted then sailed around the south coast before heading down to France, Spain and Portugal. Hank the labrador will also be on this trip, so potential crew will need to be happy with four-legged crew! After 15 years on/off in the UK it’s time to head south and gradually sail back to Australia.

Planning to leave mid-Sep with stops in Alderney, Bayona, then straight down to Lazarote / Gran Canaria. Weather depending, the plan is to leave the Canaries late Nov and head across.

Another CF member has thrown his hat in the ring for the Trans Atlantic, so I’ll be looking for two crew from UK to Canaries, then one for the Trans Atlantic. Of course if there’s enough interest I can rig up another berth and make night watches easier for everyone.

You’ll need to get yourself to/from the boat, and I’ll cover provisions while you’re aboard.

Questions? Interested? Drop me a msg!

Nathan

Hi. If you will go to Balears, I can go with you. You will cover all expanses (food, drinks, cigarettes) completely. How soon to Balears? Let me know in PM.

Hi,

Saw your message on the other post. Not going to Balears and certainly wouldn’t cover someone’s cigarettes.

Hi. No Canaries. Balears. Food, drinks, cigarettes you cover. OK, €20000 prepay from you for Canaries. Where are you now?

Hi,
I have no sale experience, but always been around boats.
Can get to the boat at Canaries no problem with that.
When do you expect to start the crossing.
Theres any fees to go onboard?

Re: UK to Canaries, then onto the Carib

Hey
I am an 18 year old student from germany. I just finished school and now I am taking a gap year to do some fun stuff. I just recently got in touch with sailing while doing a little trip around the azores. I was living on a boat for about a month and we sailed to 3 different islands with only 2 people on board. So I already did night watches and loads of other stuff alone. Besides I am tempted to say that I learn pretty fast. Please don't be repelled by my young age. People tend to think that 18 year olds are not able to be sensible.
I' be interested in both of your described trips and if you still need someone i'd be happy to hear from you.

Greetings

Matthias
