This link will download the study
Now provide the quote from the study. Which, BTW, is not from the DOE.

2 things first do your own work .
Second the graph from the doe is posted earlier in the thread go read it .

Lastly none of it has to do with the focus of the thread which is the NWP . Still full of fast ice .

It is your assertion, it is your work.

You are the one deflecting.

and you get your data where ?
Environment Canada still shows complete cover with fast ice across 90% of the archipelago at a minimum .
I do not look at any areas that are considered " open water "
Meaning at least 25 miles of open surface between land masses.
You should go there and send back pictures .

Out of what orifice did you pull that definition of "open water".

by your definition of the NWP where do you start and end .
https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/open_water
An expanse of an ocean, sea, or large lake which is distant from shore and devoid of nearby islands or other obstructions

I am only concerned with the various straits in the archipelago
The majority of the rest is not a concern as it is more affected by weather and winds .
Now I'm done sparing with you wrt your superiority complex .

So nothing about 25 miles. That you just pulled out of an orifice.

yes the 25 miles is arbitrary that would in my estimation mean that would be unencumbered by any leeshore.
However you should actually look at the pictures I post that my antagonistic friend is the eastern arctic ( that is Greenland on the right side of the chart. )

this is the chart you ment to post in sure .

do tell please map out your route all the way through without crossing any multi year sea ice that is in the NWP . Kind of looks like brown is blocking all entrances on the east .
Do you need to clean your glasses
Doesn't matter what route you choose .

Two yachts transmitted the NWP last year.

There were 34 transits in 2017.
