The Temperature vs Pirate Population chart presents nearly interesting, but not nearly conclusive data, open to (at least 5) differing interpretations:
1. Pirates favour colder temperatures, and a warming climate causes a decline in their numbers.
2. Pirates cause colder temperatures, and their declining numbers has allowed a warming climate.
3. The 2 data sets are unrelated, and meaningless.
4. The 2 data sets are partially related, and require “artful” interpretation .
5. I don’t understand the data.

Gord,
I can understand interpretations 1,2&5, but 3 and 4 are simply irrelavent. I think that questioning the validity of the data is a lost cause. I beleive this for one reason and one reason only. This is a graph with lots of very large numbers and lines that are very intimidating. I personally know that I could not have generated this graph and therefore the person who did is a lot smarter than I am. If a person with enough intelligence to create such a pretty graph says that there is a correlation then who are we to disagree?

It'll all be ok if we tax it. This would be a no issue if Gore would have made a few hundred million...but noooo, could'nt do that.

Just like the save africa money grabber concerts.....how many times must africa be saved.......from itself?

Just sayin.

Re: Scientists blame sun for global warming

There are plenty of scientists happy to make dramatic predictions (with varying levels of competence).
Importantly, not every possibility that ever gets into a peer reviewed paper, is equally plausible.

At first glance it would appear there is a majority vote in closing this thread

However, recent history has shown that voting doesn't always lead to good decisions. For example a large island out West recently voted a business man in as their President A second example on a small soggy island off NW Europe, a vote to leave may have been so badly managed that the populace are left in total despair.

Fred closed, third time lucky perhaps.
