1974 Ranger 29 - Questions for the experienced.

I bought a Ranger 29 this summer.

I wanted to finish up the story of Storm Dragon, the 29 foot Ranger. I had much love for this boat because it facilitated some incredible dreams, but in October of 2016, Hurricane Mathew sunk the boat. I did not have the title yet, I did not spend money, but what a shame it would have been if I did.

After this happened, I decided to go traveling and flew to to Peru in South America. I sat with shamans in the Amazon and drank Ayahuasca and had the most important experiences of my life. Here I am now, years later and I am in Indiana and sailing has started popping up in my mind again. I have started watching videos and scoping out boats. I just realized there is a sailing club here in Indiana and I intend on joining. They do races each week, so I will be jumping aboard. Perhaps I will buy a boat soon.

I just wanted to thank you all for the experience here. This thread did pretty well. I am sure I will be back to ask more questions, though life has changed a bit. Here in Indiana on these lakes I will probably purchase a weekender type sailboat. I will see. I am starting to like the design of the Cape Dory 18. Perhaps this will be a good first boat.
