1983 Freedom 32 Jib Rigging

I just bought a 1983 Freedom 32. This is a new and different concept than I am used to and I cannot figure out how to rig the jib. I have it rigged on the guide wire, but I cannot figure out how to attache the other end of the bar that goes throught the sail. If anyone was pictures ofr diagrams, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 1983 Freedom 32 Jib Rigging

I think what you have is a Berig camber spar rig. Look up that sail maker if he is still around he used to have a site with pictures and instructions. I believe the freedoms had sails made by other than Berig and they always looked poor to me. My unit was custom made by Berig it also had full battens in jib along with the camber spar.. Over 8K of wind a fair sail very good at 20K of wind and about 20K of boat speed but useless in light wind the spar was just too heavy.

Try this link. http://www.freedomyachts.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=11320

If you are still having trouble, send me a pm and I will assist further. When I first registered it wasn't as easy as most forums. Great info there.
