1996 320 Hull 137

In the process of installing a Renogy Controller under the Nav Table mounted against the white bulkhead. Is it possible to cut an access port into the thin bulkhead under the nav table to run the cables from the stern solar panels to the controller and up to the teak wood panel just forward of the main electrical panel where i will mount a selector switch. I know there is space under the main electrical switchboard panel where Catalina ran cables when the boat was built. Has anyone ventured into this area. Thanks.
