5,000 to Zero

so while shopping for a boat for my father, we came across this. great looking boat however the marina placed the stands in the wrong place while being winterized last year which made all four spots buckle and concave the hull. i called the number on the for sale sign to ask the owner if he knew about the status of the boat. since he lives in northern nj and only comes down in the summer he had no clue and was none to thrilled to say the least. after a whole winter resting as is this is the end result.

Good of you to ring the owner and tell him. Not a boatyard for recommending...

Re: 5,000 to zero

What a shame for someone to do that to a boat.

Holy smokes! That must be a POS hull OR she is slap full of water.... AND there is no keel support!

Re: 5,000 to zero

As the keel is supposed to take the weight and the stands to balance the boat, the yard really SCREWED up.

Not to many boats wouldn't buckle if totally supported only by jack stands..

Re: 5,000 to zero

even worse, i only spoke to the son of the owner. a woman called me back and her husband died and and she was trying to sell the boat as part of the estate. i explained that this was not the right way to support the boat and it could do some serious damage. she is very upset and i agreed to go and point out the issues. i feel really sorry for this woman as she had no idea on what was being done..
