Advice on a 34' San Juan in the Norfolk VA area

Folks
I am looking at a Craigslist listing of a 34' San Juan located in the Norfolk VA (Hayes, actually) area. I spoke with the owner on the phone, wonderful conversation too

I live closer to the DC part of VA, and the plan is to hop on my motorcycle to go visit. It is a lil ways out tho, hence my being here asking for a lil advice

Is there anyone in the Norfolk area who may know this boat?

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/boa/d...959453884.html

If it works out that the boat is worth it, I will definitely do lunch or similar

Thanks

Danny

Looks like a great price!! Suggest getting a survey before you purchase for an independent evaluation of the boat's condition. Survey likely required for insurance based on the boat's age.

Thanks for the advice on survey
I will do a walk thru and look for things mentioned in Mr MacDonald's 101 (thank you sir)
It is still a 5-hr ride tho, part of which is on the I95

I will search here for a reputable surveyor in the area, after that
I am hoping that I can find a decent surveyor who tell me if I am wasting my time up front, at a reasonable price, rather than do a full survey that may be close to what the boat is valued

Will see

Thanks again
Danny
