well...the plan is to head to Carribean/Panama/Eastern Sth Pacific/NZ by next November...longer term outlook is to live aboard for the next 5-10 yrs ...maybe longer...maybe shorter....nothing in life is written in stone....but circumnavigation at a VERY leisurely pace is what we plan....
I have only had 3 vacations (of 2-3 week duration) in the last 15 years...running your own business will do that...it's time to take a substantial amount of time off...I'm 51 now...I could care less if I'm saying "Welcome to Walmart" when I'm 70....I'm going now while I can!!

Spectacular boat. Looks ready to go. Load your stuff and drop the hook! Look us up when you get to Singapore/Malaysia

My plan driving the Hertz bus at the airport. I really love those cool white shirts with the embroidery on the sleeve.

Congratulations! Sure is a beautiful boat. Have you chosen a name, or will you keep "Arielle"?

That sure put a dent in the check book, very fine vessel. Looks like a high caliber yacht made specifically for crossing oceans. Good luck and best wishes on your adventures.

haha...yes I'm very broke....I saw a movie called "Evening" last night...a line from it struck home..."we are mysterious creatures...but at the end of things we find that so very little of it actually matters"...in my present frame of mind that said to me GO SAILING NOW coz this humdrum just doesn't matter in the long run....
The Stevens 47 is EXACTLY the same hull and deck as the Hylas 47. it has an interesting history...the first 30 or so boats being built for charter but after that they were custom made...this on is one of the customs...it has all the serious stuff refit already...so it is a little high dollar upfront but less to spend on refitting anything....I paid for it yesterday....SOOOOO excited....

and we arekeeping the name "Arielle"...I registered "aboutarielle.com" the other day so eventually there will be a website up...not yet though...isn't there some superstition about renaming boats??

Wheels and seafox and southernman...I'm looking forward to seeing you guys late next year sometime.....

Congratulations. What a great boat! Of course I'm biased, as I am also a new Stevens 47 owner. We bought Totem in March. I just sailed her from San Francisco to Seattle in June.

We leave June 2008 for Mexico and then points west. It would be nice to stay in touch to compare boat notes.

You never do that for me
You should have your new paintjob by then wheels. No blue stain on your fenders any more then.

I think the Stevens47 and the Hylas 47 are sister ships. I sailed on the Hylas and she provided a great ride. Looks like your new one has been well taken care of. Good luck with her!!
