Hi, I have been looking at an Albin scampi on the market right now, and I don’t know if it is a good boat? I am looking to do coastal cruising and maybe doing some passages. Any thoughts?

Nice boats,
They sail well and have a lot of interior space for a boat of their era/size. quite a few of them (most?) have/had hydraulic drive with the engine under the bunk in the forepeak (supposedly the weight forward helped with the IOR rating). Parts for the hydraulic drive are hard to come by these days and I would avoid this set up. There was also a double spreader "tall rig* option, good for racing, but otherwise to be avoided. Also have a look at the Albin Ballard and the MAXI's

Yeah the price would probably be around 9k in ok shape. Would that be a good deal?
