Re: Albin Vega Vs. Folkboat

Vega: 3 ft more waterline, more beam, less ballast to keep the boat upright due to more beam. I had a Contessa 26 (similar to folkboat) although a sweet and very pretty little boat, I hated the very wet ride and being heavily heeled in even the lightest winds.

Re: Albin Vega Vs. Folkboat

Standing headroom was a big factor in my search for the right pocket cruiser. Not many boats under 30' have it (I'm 6'1"). Folkboats don't offer much. The Vega is 5'10", which might be alright. Personally, I think the Yankees in general offer some of the best value you'll find anywhere.
Not sure how much digging you've done, but here's an almost exhaustive list of solid small boats (under 32ft) that you should definitely reference if you haven't already: Atom Voyages - Good Old Boats List

Searching for the right boat is so much fun! Good luck!
