Amelia - Finally our first boat in US

Hi all,
We have finally bought our first boat here in the US. We used to sail in Argentina and Uruguay.
We went for a S2 11 A in very good condition. She draws 4.8 so that will allow us to go to shallow spots here in Miami. We will start sailing in the Biscayne Bay, the Keys, and we are planning to go to Bimini for Christmas.
Our future plans are to sail the Caribe up to the Guyanas.
We named her Amelia because of Amelia Earhart. Is there any tradition to be make whten you change a boats name?

Yep, it's traditional to invite all your friends aboard and then to get them so drunk that they'll never remember the boat's previous name.

We did the “ceremony” as a bit of fun before going out for a morning sail.

always educational on the history of sailing, superstition and other maladies.
I think is part of the fun of having a new/old boat and changing names.
