Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show Review

I take exception to the rolex coments, who do you think buys gunboats and the like. We spend 4 -5 months on our boat, rolex and all. Rarely see a marina. Even have artficial grass at home. LOL just get any boat and get out on the water.

Geez, I was there for three days and somehow missed seeing the Garcia 45. I would have liked to have seen it; been curious to find out how one can see over the sprayhood hard dodger. Where was it located? The show is huge.

They actually had two. The Allures 45, and the Garcia 45 Expedition (Jimmy Cornell's boat). They were across from the 90' Turkish yacht.

The Expedition 45 is a pilot house and you're right, I had to stand up to see over it. But that's the trade off for being able to drive from inside. And the taller house allows a watertight door instead of weatherboards.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show Review

I am fairly new to this site and am enjoying reading all the comments. I live in the Annapolis area and attended the show. I share your thoughts regarding design, etc. I came across an interesting event that will be held in Amsterdam next month bringing global industry partners to discuss new design ideas. Thought you may find it interesting. There are a few U.S. based companies that will be presenting.
