Any Voyager 26 Owners Out There?

In my search for a safe, ocean capable, trailerable boat, I inspected an Ocean Voyager 26 last Saturday. I have been following the design for a few months now and was very impressed with what I saw. Any experience with the design out there?

My only issue was with the standing headroom below decks as it was about 1" lower than I need - that less than perfect but almost enough, scratch the top of your head height.

This model was the older version and I understand that the headroom may be a little more in the later boats??

I am an owner of a OV with 6'1'' headroom. I have been restoring it since I lost my old boat in Katrina. Appears that it is a great boat. I too would like to find more owners of this sailboat.

Hi, Mark. Thanks for the note on the headroom.
There is a great user group for the boat with lots of photos and project logs:
Voyager26 : Voyager 26 You'll find the group helpfull during your restoration.
What model boat did you loose in Katrina? I had an Allied Mistress in downtown Charleston during hurricane Hugo. It washed onshore, out of the marina, but received very little in the way of real damage. Later in the Keys, it was lucky again as Andrew just skirted us. It's last big trial was hurricane George where it made it through OK above four anchors.
Me, I moved inland!

If you Google Ocean Voyager Sailboat it will lead U to a website that has a discussion by Brooks Atherton (sp?) on the history of the boat. Two models were built, an early model with low headroom and the MK II model that has 6'1" headroom. Also includes a great primer on the history of the boat. Mark

Re: Any Voyager 26 Owners Out There?

Hello
regards

Recently I acquired an OV 26 and I plan to put it in shape with all the repairs and care it deserves, I love the boat and I have read some things about it, I also wanted to know if the Yahoo group they are talking about is still active or if there is any Another place where you can find the necessary information to know more about this beautiful ship!
I leave my mail
RobertPeaceOV26@yahoo.com
I hope I can get some help with this

Re: Any Voyager 26 Owners Out There?

Voyeger 26 names found so far:
Azalide
Sea Star
Sea Breeze
Little Moose (Mark 2 with custom stern and extra ballast)
Chinook
Jenny B
Greensleeves
Kilo Makani
Elska

Note - It looks like Sea Breeze and Little Moose might be the same boat under different names. Or they are twins.

Re: Any Voyager 26 Owners Out There?

Voyager 26 owners manual wanted, holler if you have one. I'll happily pay for any shipping and handling. The manufacturer told me that they do not have these any more, so a reproduction would not be out of line here
