Anyone recognize this boat design

This boat was left to a friend of mine and there is no info about the boat design. It looks funny in these pictures, but it has a quite solid feel when walking about the cabin and deck. We know a few things. Home built... plywood/glass. Junk rigged...the fir mast is broken near the deck, but this is the only broken thing on this boat. Its in good shape at least above the waterline.
The boat was built in the early nineties and sailed to the south pacific and back to Oregon with at least one stop in Hawaii. There is a bowsprit not seen in pictures. Measures about 30 ft in length. Not sure of the beam. Notice the long tiller aft way up on deck The boat has never had an inboard.

My friend is planning to haul out soon and we can gather more info after looking at the hull shape.

Anyone have any hunches about this. Please be kind

Re: Anyone recognize this boat design

Looks like a home-built junk where someone took the lines off a junk and built it out of plywood. Usually a junk RIG will have a foremast and maybe a mizzen too, but I don't see it on yours. Just one mast? Was it rigged for a jib? That would be a little unusual. If you just search for "Chinese Junk" or "Junk sailboat" you may see a similar hull design. Kind of a cool boat, junks, I'd love to see how she sails. Send some photos of her out of the water, I'd like to see the hull.
