Help please.

Need rudder friends. Just bought a little 68 Bristol 26' And after further inspection... realized my rudder slightly resembles Swiss cheese. Any ideas on a website, or a company/business that could help? Or do y'all think I am going to have to fabricate something? Many thanks in advance. Blessed be.

Re: Help please.

Here's a link to a rudder repair on a similar size boat: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...air-83196.html

If you're the kind of person who likes to read up on how others have solved rudder problems, you can go to the Maintenance thread, and do a CF Google Custom Search (about the 4th item down the search menu), on "rudder repair". There were a lot of threads about it. If you decide to do that, pay close attention to what minaret and Maine Sail write, both very competent, highly skilled, good advice.

Ann

PS. if you add your general location and your boat type, it will make it easier for posters to tune their responses to where on earth you are.

The thread "Help please" has been merged into this one. Some posts have been deleted, most of which were asking for further information.

There are lots of DIY rudder threads, here on CF, as well as online. Such as at www.boatdesign.net/forums or Making a Sailboat Rudder for an Offshore Yacht
And commercial builders, from www.philsfoils.com to GMT composites.
