We have such a rigid solar panel 'bimini' setup. Cannot be taken down in a hurry. Survived two storms so far, one with 65 knots sustained winds for hours. Rattled quite a bit though while it was blowing that hard.

Hi
I built a frame to mount two rigid panels over my bimini. It wasn't very complicated and worked fine for years as I sailed down the East coast to the Bahamas. Here is a diagram.
