Re: Best 45'-50' boat with two larger staterooms/heads

I saw a photo in this Forum if seized boats in Finland One is a rather new looking likely final production of a Nauticat. Has large bands of stainless around windows.
They seem over the top in quality and finish. I was hoping Beneteau might go rescue them but it seems not.

Re: Best 45'-50' boat with two larger staterooms/heads

I recently got to check out an Outbound 46 and it was pretty fantastic. Very smart layout inside and out. If I were up for an over 40ftr, it'd be high on my list.

Suggest you might take a look at a Cal 2-46 listed on Yachtworld.com (at more than double the price of all other Cal 2-46's). So what's good about that? She meets all of your criteria, is completely turn key, and still may be attainable at half your budget limit. She is a highly customized (similar layout of the Island Packet 48), fully equipped blue water cruiser, of which six Cal 2-46's (more than any other model sailboat) had circumnavigated from the west coast, per Latitude 38 records through 2003. Not sure if that record still stands. Contact Tom Murray re. "Molly J" at LaPaz Yachts, Mexico for more details: Office +52 (612) 123-1948 Tom Murray cell: +52 (612) 201-4039

We sail an Olympic Adventure 47. Three cabins, two heads. There are not a lot of them in the US, but they are solid boats for any kind of cruising and we love ours. They are older boats, designed by Ted Brewer. Should be well below your price range but you'll want money for fitting them out to your own specs.

Re: Best 45'-50' boat with two larger staterooms/heads

I lived aboard my Hans Christian 48T for almost 4 years. Two staterooms. Two full heads. Sailed in as little a 3kts wind, frequently made 10kts. Sailed through gales. Comfortable sea motion.
Here's one for sale

Re: Best 45'-50' boat with two larger staterooms/heads

We have a 46 foot cc Najad - with three cabins - It's a great blue water boat -
We use it a lot for day sailing and coastal cruising. It is VERY heavy, so not great in light winds.

Re: Best 45'-50' boat with two larger staterooms/heads

I can not confirm nor deny any bias to a CT49. But hypothetically if I had one, I reckon it ticks all those boxes. Centre cockpit, Pilot house, 2 big cabins, 2 heads, cutter rigged.

I bought it cheap and just finished refitting her. Got around half the amount you mentioned, plus my time and sweat, doing pretty much exactly the way I wanted. All new gear. Done all the work myself. New motor, rigging, thru hulls, still doing the electrics. I'm under no illusions I will recoup that later.

I'm pretty happy with the way she sails and layout etc.

I haven’t seen any Amel recommendations. That’s a great boat with nice aft cabins in that size range.
