Hi All,

I would like to buy a sailing boat, in order to comlete a WT, including high latitude in the good season.

I will be alone most of the time, occasinally some guest.

The budget is not a major issue.

Awaeting for Your comments I remain.

Najad, Hallberg Rassey, Oyster to name a few. Or better yet.... I'd do the tour on board a cruise ship. Less hassle, more fun and cheaper.

High latitudes + money no option = Alloy hull, such as those by Garcia, Alubat, Van De Stadt, etc.

Centerboards are well worth consideration.

I own one, and I love it. One just needs to be careful of galvanic corrosion issues.

Re: Best boat for a world tour

Could you define "high latitudes " if you exclude ice areas, any reasonable GRP boat will get you there. Contest Yachts, some of the Jeanneau range, etc, A lot of the HR/Oyster etc are not really suitable to single hand without some mods. You need to look at reefing and running rigging lines, winch positions etc.

Mark J singled handed his Beneteau 393 and that worked for him.

I suggest you sail more and get an appreciation of what you feel is important. Then short list

I like boats like this:

Bienvenue chez Boreal

Alloy, pilothouse, lifting keel, etc. Easy one-man deck layout.
