Question Blue Bouy Yacht , Co.

Blue Bouy Yacht Co out of Torrance, CA (USA) operated from 1969 thru 1980. I have one of their boats, but I can not find anything about the company or my boat. The boat is a Del Rey 24. I know she is a knock off of the Islander Bahamas 24, and from what I can see a very close knock off. That is about all I can find. Does anyone have any information about this company, any leads, Any info on my or a similar boat, or leads? Her name when I got her was "Salty Dog" I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance. I hope to have her in the water by June 7.

I may have helped build your 24. I worked for Paul Blue in the early 70's.

Re: Blue Bouy Yacht , Co.

Mine is a complete mess on inside so I am going to need to gut it and is there any thing I should or should not do. I don't know where the drains for cabin are at to go out of the keel. If there are any or do I have to pump that. What kind of gauges and where. Pictures of the door any old color pictures. I really don't know what I all need

Re: Blue Bouy Yacht , Co.

Start by heading to the library and borrowing or buying used copies on Amazon of:
Ted Brewer's Understanding Boat Design and Understanding Rigs and Rigging
Don Casey's This Old Boat

Then, even if you can't find specific pictures or examples of your boat, you'll have some pretty good principles and ideas to guide you...
