BOat Broker in Rhode Island Massachusetts Area

Greetings. Anyone know a reliable boat broker in the Rhode Island/ Massachusetts area? I'm looking to sell my old boat and would appreciate any feedback on an honest agent to sell it.
Craigslist just gets a lot of tire kickers and wastes my time.
I have also been contacted a few times by Boatsellers Network, anyone familiar with them? Any experience there?

Don't waste your money on boatsellers network. They contacted a friend who listed his boat on Craigslist and wanted a big fee up front to list it. First test, I looked at their website and then did a google search for the exact boat model and year that was in the top featured list of boats for sale. Boat sellers network turn up until the third page of google hits. Further research didn't find any positive reports on the company.

From all I could tell they make money charging listing fees, not selling boats.

Thanks for the feedback, I kind of got that feeling when they contacted me. I've always sold boats through more traditional means but am always open to new ideas, just not open to getting ripped off. I've been out of the loop on selling for awhile, used to buy and sell some auction boats but it's been 10 years, and usually only turn over my own boats at 10 year intervals. It takes that long to get them fully debugged so I can sell them in perfect order to the next guy and start fixing all the problems with the "new" boat. I think I need my head examined.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm going to call a few guys next week, I did contact one individual recently and after setting up to have him meet and look over the boat three times and then having him cancel at the last minute I told him to take a hike. Would rather do it once and sell it. Don't need to make every last penny, just sell it fair and move forward.

Even though they are small states, MA/RI covers a lot of waterfront. There are reasonable choices of brokers. Having someone who is based near the boat is likely to result in their being better able to show on short notice, etc.

We worked with Sam Lawson at Lawson Yachts, Hingham, MA (781) 749-1645 when we bought and sold our last boats. He was knowledgeable and easy to work with on both sides of the transaction.

Ham Freeman at New England Yacht Partners in Bristol, RI (888) 525-9457 is working with a couple of friends selling their boats. They were impressed with his approach and follow through.

Second Lawson Yachts. I bought a bought through John Proctor there and 25 years later I still remember him.

I would recommend Richard Barker at Bluenose Yacht Brokers in Newport RI. I've know Richard for over 30 years - he is honest, works hard and will be totally upfront. Good luck!

Thanks all for the feedback.
I've found the feedback from individuals who've dealt with specific agents in the past to be invaluable, better than all the adds and webpages out there. In the end, it's up to the individual professional and the agency they represent.
Thanks.

I have good things to say about Art Olive, Little Bay Boatworks in Pocasset MA 508-360-4691. I ended up buying a boat from someone else, but Art was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when some issues came up for me later on that boat. It says a lot about him and his integrity when he's willing to help someone with a boat he didn't even sell.

I bought a boat from Linda Warren with East Coast Yachts last fall and thought she was very good. Haven't sold with her so this was from buyers perspective.

Jim Spiro at Narragansett Sailing brokerage in Barrington, RI, 401-250-5496. Jim checked my boat out thoroughly before agreeing to take the listing. He had it sold the first week, after two showings; I'd had it listed for a year previously with another broker with no activity.
