Boat insurance

Hi everyone,

I’m super excited just joined this forum and looking for a bit of signposting. I retire next year and have fallen in love with the amel santorin but don’t understand how the insurance works. I’m hoping people can explain how it works. I would love to get an idea on how much people paid when they first started out. Is it tough to get insurance when your new I live in the UK but I’m hoping to buy a European registered boat and sail around the med for a couple of years to get my sailing back up to scratch then when my husband retires in 2024 we’re off around the world .. any help and advice you can offer would be really appreciated.
