Boat manufacturers

considering a Farr pilothouse. Choices are whether built by Najad or BSI. Any thoughts how or where I can find valid references? Or Nauticat 515?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, RBrand.

Boat Sales International (BSI) are the Exclusive UK dealers for Moody and Najad Yachts - not manufacturers.

Re: Boat manufacturers

Nauticat 515 is not Farr but Sparksman & Stephen. Nauticat bought the hull mold from Swan when the company was sold and moved to Italy.

In fact, the Swan arrow is prevalent on the side of the hull... how do I know? Best mate owns a 515... has an easy 1 knot advantage on me... even when I sail at my best! Large and heavy but flies!!!

Information I have found is that Najad built the Farr 60 pilothouse in like 1997 and 1998, then construction changed slightly to make the Farr 56 pilothouse (actually 58') manufactured by BSI during the period 2002 - 2004 or so. I am curious about any manufacturing differences/concerns?

Interesting. I see the arrow on both the Swan and the Nauticat 515 with slight differences, missing the dot. The Nauticat 515 is another of my options but I liked the lines of the Farr better. But if the Nauticat 515 has Swan roots.....
