This looks like a decent deal. Boat doesn't seem to be in terrible shape for $8,732.

With a stainless steel bidet!

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

When it comes to boats or love....there is no logic. You can get a very good boat for nearly no money just because the owner want to be rid of it. On the On the other hand you may end up with an un-repairable mess. Its often a matter of being at the right place (or wrong place) at the right time.
I once gave away a 1973 Columbia 29' because I was moving and I could not take it with me. You just never know.
Beware of the "fixer-uppers" take off the rose colored glasses and do an honest estimate of the time and cost. In most cases you will find that you can afford a vessel in much better condition.

C&C30 with yanmar. Asking $7500cdn ($5.6k usd). Located in Owen Sound (I think that's on Georgian Bay, Great Lakes, Canada). Looks like good conditon and well equipped, but you can't trust pictures. The C&C30 was one of the best boats made by C&C, reputed to be stiff and capable. These are popular in my area. Sometimes people just need the boat to be sold.

Here's a nice 41' Formosa Yankee Clipper for $5K. Looks like a lot of the work is done.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

I love this thread because so many people told us we were CRAZY to think we could find a cruising boat for under $30k. Nine years and 10,000+ miles later, I’m *delighted* to offer our 1981 Nor’West 33 for sale for $29,900

Full keel, proven offshore cruising boat ready-to-go with a beautiful teak interior, brand-new Beta 25 diesel engine, monitor windvane, solar panels, new chartplotter & Radar, tons of storage, new wiring, new running rigging, and more!

This boat has been across the Pacific to French Polynesia, Hawaii and back to the West Coast, sailed through the Panama Canal and up to Maine, and is now ready and waiting for your cruising dreams in Beaufort, South Carolina!

As big believers of "go small, go now", we're confident you won't find a better boat at this price.

Designed by Chuck Burns and built in Alameda, CA, she's similar to a Mason 33 or a Cape Dory 33.

Please post this over at the classifieds too. I remember when the Nor’wests came out; pretty famous boat on the Bay in its day, at least among my friends! One I would certainly consider today! Good luck.

I just checked too and the boat no longer shows up in a search. I'm guessing it went pretty fast.

Depends on age and condition. I had a friend that used to be a delivery captain on Bénéteau boats in the 90s. He liked to call them Bendyteaus. He said that the hulls were so thin, he could see light through the hanging lockers.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

CaptWho. The one who told that was certainly French! They absolutely dislike that someone can do things better!! A 63 ft had a hull bottom 2 1/2 inch thick! Most of them has two MB based engines and really luxurious interiors.
The 63 was out of my reach, the 42 and 422 ( a twin 115hp engine had insufficient head room for me.
