28 ft Wylie a little dirty from the pictures but worth the money they are asking. If it really is a Wylie prototype, then one it could be worth more.

I like the layout of the Allmands although I've heard their not great blue-water boats.

Here's the correct link: https://santabarbara.craigslist.org/...214392398.html
Oddly he features a picture of the wood stove as the lead picture in the ad.

I am a big fan of the J 28 model sloop having sailed one for almost all of the 1990s. What a great sailing boat! Sails 6, feeds 4 and sleeps 2 to perfection. The boat rates with a J24 to give you some idea of speed. My experience is that with good sail and a smooth bottom she goes right past a J24 and sails with boats rating around 150.

There is one listed for sale in Marion MA at $14,900. You can find it on yachtworld.com by searching on J 28 or Lawson Yacht Sales. I have no financial interest.

Weak spots? Aside from the usual wet core issues of older boats I have not heard of anything else. I once removed the salon furniture to get at the cabin floor. Everything came apart and went together really well.

Fast sturdy cruiser for 15K

Here is one , these boats have a following . I like the outside hull mounted chain plates . (not mine and I don't know the owner) . The Cape Dory looks fairly ready to go , is it a good price I don't know ?

Catalina 27. Includes trailer. $7,000 CDN

I'm looking for a starter cruiser. East coast. Probably ICW although I would like to revisit the Bahamas.
For 1 or 2 people. ( My wife is not a sailor ).

Comments?

1984 Cape Dory 30 Plan B layout in Mobile AL

Looks like a great "small" cruiser if you don't mind doing without a V-berth as the Plan B has a larger (for a 30ft) head in the bow.

Such a good price for a real good old boat.

Cutter layout too!
