I encourage you to check out the Pearson 365. I was in the middle of a deal with a 1972 Allied Princess in Northern Ca. when it turned out the paperwork wasn't in his name and had no incentive to change that and then the "running engine" was locked up solid. That was suppose to be $15K.

I had been watching a 1977 Pearson 365 "Slutter" (sloop with an inner forestay and club boom). Over 6 months the owners dropped and dropped and dropped until I could no longer pass it up. I am really happy with it.

That's a nice boat.
(Fwiw, that's a well-designed foredeck arrangement!)

cadre I’d, you might also want to take a look at this one.

https://www.google.com/url?client=in...J8fd2_DBfKkuo6

I’ve been on this boat and I know the owners. This is a beauty. If you like this type definitely look at this one.

This boat has some great gear, the windlass alone sells used for 5g. The engine runs, fires straight up. True charge 40 charger, Kato arch, backstay tensioner, I could go on.

But she does need some loving. A general clean up of the wiring is required, likely a few hoses changed......although she has a load of spares and gear aboard. Theres a spool of 12g duplex....that would run $500 alone.

I wouldn't put an Allied 39 in the same class as the princess, mistress or seawind. These boats are 39' with a 10' beam. They SAIL!!

But the cost of that is space...these boats are no Out Island Morgan.

This boat is perfect for a couple , couple with kid....or single hand.

No explanation of what happened to the cabin-top handrails? No explanation of anything really, apart from engine rebuild. No interior pictures...

Last updated in July. I love it when a broker's really put effort in to moving a boat.

lol...not at all. I like the Alberg a lot as a design. They are worth restoring if not too far gone, and this appears decent. The boat has beautiful lines although it's got a tiny interior for modern tastes. They sail well too.

For $25K USD, I expect someone to put a bit more effort into the task than a walk around the boat when it's locked! That's nearly $35K Canadian!

Brokers are used car salesment. Repeat that after me. Except they dont have to buy the cars. Except they get 10% of the cost for... tossing some pictures up on the big sites

Most of these brokers cant even be bothered to spend 10 minutes to learn photography or $100 to have a boat tidied up and cleaned.

So ya unless you have a ****ton of pictures im not spending $500 to come see a boat that may be garbage you posted a 15yo picture of.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

cdreid...I was actually commenting on the members response to the great deals that are offered in these $30,000 and under listings.A turn key sailboat in the 35 foot range in good+ condition usually goes for $50 and up. There have been a lot of great deals here. probably sellers that either have another boat and want the old one gone or the have had enough of the lifestyle and want to move on.

I've seen some deals here for a fixer for as low as $6,000. Yet, members want to pick it apart and comment on it's poor layout or that the engine must be no good. I chalk it up to land based tire kicking. Nothing wrong with that, I just wish I could see some movement on these boats.

I agree with everything you said.
I might have just been stewing on the fact brokers screw people for 10%

Im a little amazed at the people who say "unless you buy a 30 for $100k its junk" while i watch youtube channel after channel of world cruisers who bought something for 0-20k and are world cruisers
