I have been aboard one of these. Huge inside and very livable. On concern with these is the quality of stainless Steel used in the rigging. The one I saw, which was in Santa Cruz, later lost the upper shroud to a 1/2" bolt failure.

Another Bayfield 32 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada for $24K CAD (about $17.5K US):
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/sar...-32/1651869926

Not a bad looking example, should sell easily at this price. Nice solid little boats with a potential to be decent cruisers.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

I don't normally post steel boats on here, but this is definitely "noteworthy":

A 1986 Goderich 36 gaff rigged schooner, in Newfoundland, for $39.9K CAD (about $28K US). (Owner appears to be in Ottawa area).

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/gat...oat/1653634614

This is a professionally-built hull with what looks like an owner-finished interior. That being said it looks fairly good inside. Lots of traditional touches, but still a comfortable liveaboard.

A 1976 C&C 38 for $32.2K CAD (~$23K US) near Toronto.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/cit...oat/1641554973

These are fast boats (often used for racing, back in the day). Deep keel for the Lakes (6.5 ft/2m). Fin keel and spade rudder. It has a diesel engine; probably repowered back in the 90s, to judge by the Yanmar model.

(It's hard to judge much, poor photos and skimpy description.)

I have seen this boat.
It is NOT a Ted Brewer "Goderich" design as can be seen by going to Ted Brewer Yachting and looking for the Humanic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goderich_35

The boat is in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, NOT Ontario. Or it has moved since the picture was taken because that is my boat in the background.

I took a brief look at her last summer. She had been sailed down river. I only saw her from the ground, not inside.

She looked like someone had done a fair bit of work on her. She is a real old school design schooner. I saw nothing that raised huge red flags. Well worth looking at for the price.

A positive is she is in LEWISPORTE. If you have ambitions to sail Newfoundland this is the spot to be. One of the best sailing grounds in the world, a wonderfully equipped marina, all the amenities, and a great water front community. And the haul and storage rates are stupid cheap. They really and truly appreciate you as a customer.

Buying a boat there makes a lot of sense, you don't have to beat your brains out getting there.

I love the place.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Asking a wee bit over the cut off but at first glance seems a remarkable buy.

43 foot Cardif steel in what appears to be top form. €40,000.
Laying St Martin. Strart the cruise in the gateway to Paradise.

And another interesting boat in St Martin. Composition mahogany, €18,000.

Funky, but it is French, so there is that.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Photos of both boats. The interiors are functional, the 43’ interior is very nice. But they are French boats and they have a distinct French flavor. Not bad, just different.

A 1970 Columbia 36 in Montreal for $15.5K Canadian (about $11.5K US).
[URL="https://www.kijiji.ca/v-voilier/ville-de-montreal/1970-columbia-36/1651175867"]https://www.kijiji.ca/v-voilier/ville-de-montreal/1970-columbia-36/1651175867[/URL

I'm not sure how old the pictures are; the owner implies the boat needs work, but the engine is nearly new and sails in good condition.

I think a Yanmar 2GM is a bit underpowered for this size of boat.

A 1979 Aloha 34 in Picton, ON (NE end of Lake Ontario) for $29.5K Canadian (about $22K US).
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/kin...oat/1655673138

A nicely maintained boat by the looks of it. A lot of newish gear. A Yanmar 3GM rebuilt in '07.

Very similar characteristics to the previous Columbia - twice the price, but newer, better condition (I think) and a better engine.
