Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

A 1985 Sigma 36 in Nova Scotia $36K Canadian (about $27K US).
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/bed...-36/1655609634

Diesel with 2100 hrs. Windlass, some newish gear, looks clean.
I don't know this boat, presumably it sailed from the UK. They sell for somewhat more in Europe.

A round the cans boat, not really good for living aboard/voyaging unless there's been some interior upgrades. Headroom not brilliant if over 6ft.
Sigma 36.

Wow, that made me look up the “worst for sale pictures” thread. Looks like it got closed?

They decided to include this as picture 4…. OF 4

Ah...a washer/dryer! What every 32 foot boat needs...more ballast!
(if it doesn't heat water or dry clothes at sea, I don't see how it's much better than a bucket with a toilet plunger.)

All the "I've sailed this boat to Hawaii twice" notwithstanding, I suppose this is an OK bunk house for a single (man) living in that area.
You go to a dock once in a while to do your laundry...

Thanks for the laugh!

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

A 1981 Contessa 32 in northern Vancouver Island, BC, for $40K Canadian (about $29.6K US).

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/cam...des/1655691251

This is a classic design with smallish interior but it has some good equipment and is set up for solo sailing.
The link in the ad to full details is informative and the list of work required seems genuine.

(It must be spring in the frozen North! There are more boats coming up for sale.)

Mariner 36 - $9,000 (Tidewater Cove Marina)

This looks like it's near Portland, pretty nice little cruiser. Needs a bit of work.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Heck of a deal but I doubt anyone has the talent to pull it off. I people don't jump at $9K, they won't jump at anything.

I thought it was a Deutz engine...made in Germany. I think Lehman used Ford and Peugeot engines.
