That is a good deal. If it were me I'd bring it south though! That boat with a trailer is a good combo. I can see it in the SOC!

I can see it trailered down to the Sea of Cortez and put back on the trailer and stored there during the hurricane season. Super cheap living.

Someone is sailing a Windjammer 34 on the Westsail facebook group. Not sure if the link below will work:
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid...ty=56090133789

If not, their asking price is 25K Canadian, and the boat is named "Full Circle". First boat pictured on this page: https://www.westsail.org/Windjammer-34-info

That boat is an oddball in several ways, and needs some serious time in a yard. I was told some of the running rigging may be OEM, to contextualize.

Only has 20Gal of water tankage and 30Gal of Diesel, which surprised me considerably. The flush deck without increased freeboard sank the sole deeper into the keel than is normal, removing tankage capacity.

A 1980 Bayfield 29 in Toronto, ON for $7.2K Canadian (~$5.3K US).

This is a low price, presumably as the engine is "a little hard to start", which could mean a number of things. Original Yanmar.

These are nice solid boats; we know owners who are very happy with them. We also knew a guy who cruised single-handed, full-time, Canada-Florida and back for many years on one of these.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Aloha 30 up for auction in Port Clinton, OH.

I'm not familiar with the boat. The owner is an actual face-to-face friend & member of my sailing club. He bought this boat to race this season, then bought yet another boat. He's a 3 (maybe 4??) boat owner at the moment. He's a stand up guy.

The current bid is $1.25. Yup, one dollar and one quarter.

This is copied from his Ebay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15560477933...hgZ-R90ndavR9E

I acquired the Aloha 30 in October of 2022. Since my acquisition I have:
Had brand new interior custom cushions in marine vinyl made
Bottom painted with VC-17M
Replaced batteries with 2 AGM
Removed rotted cabin sole
Installed new cabin sole
repaired crack on transom from a collision with the sea wall from the previous owner
She still needs a little attention but could be used as is for the season.
This boat has a weak spot behind the keel. Right now from sitting on the cradle, she has a little oil can effect that should pop out when lifted to be reset or launched. The rib behind the keel was previously repaired, but needs to be redone. If you know how to use fiberglass, it's an easy fix. I have a piece of White oak that can be used.
She also has a stringer behind the engine where the hot water tank sits that needs to be replaced. I would remove the hot water tank, and replace in the off season.
She has a soft spot around the Edson pedestal that will need to be addressed in the next season or so, and the cabin top was originally cored. the previous owner removed the inner shell, removed the wood and placed a headliner to cover it up.
Standing rigging is in good shape, some of the running rigging needs replacement. Boom and spinnaker pole in good shape.
Cradle is included, summer storage at Marina will be take care of and is included in the sale.
Proper paperwork is in hand.
Only selling as I found and purchased a boat closer to my home in Detroit.

Looking at it I see a lot of potential, but given the condition, it'll be interesting to see what the auction goes for I think if it were closer to 10k maybe? The entire interior needs refinishing at a minimum, all the rigging needs to be redone just based on the age & how long it's been sitting. That's a massive project.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

This guy out of Port Charlotte, FL has change his FB marketplace post to "SELLING THIS WEEKEND JUNE17-18"

Already listed at $8k. Seems it was given a yanmar some point in life and some maintenance about 7 years ago with rigging/sails.

Hes only a few miles from me, I have dock space for it. I'm half tempted as its in the range of what we are looking for.

Down to $19,500 now. Beautiful boat. My only problem with this basic design is that the interior is more like a 35' boat than a 42' one.
