I think that has been true for many years now. At least in my opinion. It's sad in one regards, that the lifestyle of the ordinary guy, messing with boats is coming to an end but I'm happy for the time I have had with sailboats and the people I have met.

This Perry designed Cheoy Lee 48 might be one for someone to go check out!

Hot diggity! That boat has had a lot more TLC recently than most in this price range. I could almost convince myself that I "need" another boat. Would never be able to convince the admiral though.

Incredible price...doesn't get much better than this. Still, people here will use the same excuse...too big, not new enough, wrong keel, oh it's a ketch, the layout is wrong and so on.

Santana 39 for $10k and you can keep it in the slip in MDR. The hard dodger alone is probably worth $10k

Here's a very tidy looking Tayana 37 with asking price just below our cutoff:

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

1978 Hinterholler Nonsuch 30 for $39.5K CAD (<$29.K USD) in Midland, Ontario, on Georgian Bay of Lake Huron.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/bar...r-1/1683028413

These boats are very well built and were very expensive originally. They have incredibly roomy interiors for the length. Good for liveaboard cruising, I'd say.

One sail, relatively easy to manage, wishbone boom, cat rigged with unstayed mast.

This boat looks clean and well-maintained with newish canvas and interior furnishings. If it's been cruised in that region for many years, it will have much less wear and tear than a boat from the South (hauled out for half the year usually).

The age and condition of the engine and the mainsail are questions, of course.

Looks like I may have to check in here more often. I would have loved to check that one out.
I wonder why my Craigslist search routines didn't pick that one up?

No idea, sorry.

You know the old saying, "Nothing goes to windward like a 747!" or, for a previous generation, "Gentlemen never sail to weather."
