Hi Dirk,
It isn't very significant in this part of Alaska (Seward, Resurrection Bay, Prince William Sound area) and many other parts too. Our water depth is much more likely to be hundreds of feet deep than less than 50. With that said, we did smack a rock last summer in a tricky part of PWS; chart and navionics both did not have it marked. I can't say much about the rest of the Pacific but draft in Alaska is not something to be too worried about.

Perhaps if you really want to explore the "Line Islands" in the Pacific ...

Here's a unique example of an extreme shoal draft trawler built by the renowned Covey Island Boatworks. I believe this is the same one that I went on at the Wooden Boat show up in Maine years ago. Beautiful well made boat.

Here's an example of an interesting 50' schooner with a 5 ton hydraulic swing keel & a 3.5' to 10' draft. This would also qualify for the unique boat & flush deck lists.

I will take that as a compliment.

Nope, I am NOT a yacht broker. Just a very enthusiastic lover of boats.

And as I have said before when posting, I have NO financial connection to the boats I post or to the seller or to the owner. I am merely sharing what I find as I search and research for my own future boat and for my personal and professional interest (I draw and paint boats as an artist). .

Boats have always been my PASSION since I was a boy.

I did find a PETERSON and a PEARSON. Two different boats. I had multiple tabs open on my iPad browser and must have picked the wrong URL. Sorry forks! (Another typo! ).

Here is the link to the PETERSON 34 1978 $12,500

Here is the link to the PEARSON 35, 1981

Sorry folks! I cannot go back and edit to correct those posts. Keep a sharp eye.

To be expected.

And, that is the reason I take the time to copy and upload photos to this thread, to illustrate boat TYPES and MODELS.

I include a link when possible to a current sale listing, but expect those to die quickly if it is a hot deal (or on CL).

I hope the photos embedded in this thread will remain, and allow CF Members to see a boat, then do their own more focused search for boats on the market at that time (which may be months or years after I post the photos).

That is my view.

What? Put Steady in a marina office instead prowling for the next perfect camera angle or artistic conception, instead of a graphics lab, instead of dropping everything to crew or sail into his next big adventure? Now THAT would be a hard sell!
