C&C 35 Engine Placement / Replacement Advice ?

I am currently looking at a C&C 35. My intentions are a long sailing trip ( approx 14-16 months circumnavigation) . It is fitted with a 15 hp Farymann in the front of the boat ( never experienced that before)
Any suggestions on what to replace the engine with and also wether I should move the engine to the rear ( as is the common place in most cases)

Appricate any advice,thoughts and experiences.

Kind Regards

What does "front of the boat" mean? Exactly where is the engine now?

If there is nothing wrong with the Faryman, why replace it? 15 HP is a bit low for a 35 footer but if you are circumnavigating, it's probably fine if it's in good shape.

A good C&C resource

Try going to the C & C Photo Album.

IIRC, most C&Cs were originally fitted with either Yanmar Diesels or Atomic 4s. They live under the cockpit, behind the companionway stairs.

Fair Winds,
Mike

I will see her in a few days.At this point I have only seller pictures and info by mail. There are not many C&C 35 in Sweden, thus hard to find relevant info or experienced pre-owners who can tell. 15hp is at least 15 to less for the purpose-safety and comfort.

We had a 20 HP Yanmar in our C&C 34, but the 30 (27, really) Yanmar would work well for you.
