C & C 36 Frigate

Greetings to all:

I to am interested in purchasing my first boat. As a Newbie I have become a bit confused about some boats which appear different yet have similar names. Can anyone tell me anything about the C & C 36 Frigate? How does it handle, how does it compare to other boats of similar vintage and size. Based on my efforts so far, it would seem it was built for competition originally so could it be considered suitable for cruising, even with some modifications cabin wise? If you had/have one, or know someone who had/has one, or even if you saw one cross the bay please let me know what you think.

i found a restored frigate on lake lanier in ga but could not face the prospect of moving it to florida. the boat had beautiful lines and a drop keel as well. looked big enough for 2 people to cruise .. a real classic.
