Can you identify this plastic classic?

Anyone know what this is? I was thinking Columbia 29, but i don't think that's it.

Re: Can you identify this plastic classic?

Ok, after some more digging i figured out it's a Cal 30. I had looked through all the Albergs, Coronados, Columbias, Pearsons etc, on sailboat data last night to no avail.

Re: Can you identify this plastic classic?

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.

Welcome! Indeed a Cal 30, and a great little ol' durable, affordable and comfortable pocket cruiser too IMO. Are you thinking of buying?

Re: Can you identify this plastic classic?

Thanks for the welcome! I don't have a sailboat, and no plans to buy one in the immediate future. I was just wandering around the Berkeley marina with my daughter and that Cal caught my eye. I am familiar with the classic Cal 29/34/etc aesthetic, and the flush deck models, but I don't recall seeing one of these.

Most recently I had a Ranger 26. I would like to own a sailboat in the future, perhaps something a bit larger, as one tends to wish for...

In Alameda? I wonder if you know of a boat named "Solstice," a Freya 39?

Re: Can you identify this plastic classic?

I think I've actually seen that boat parked somewhere, although i dont know where. Youre probably aware alameda has thousands of sailboats in half a dozen marinas.

After thinking about my boat "needs" I think I'm looking for a santana 22 with the interior of a jeanneau 39 DS. If anyone can find that for me I would be very appreciative.

This is no laughing matter. I'll have you know I've just discovered such a vessel does in fact exist and it's name is S2 8.0C. It's clearly optimal blend of interior space and sailing perfomance inevitably leads one to wonder why there are not more boats like this.
