Cheap (vs Luxury) Constructors

Hi,

I would like to get a boat to live aboard and I'm wondering if there are any constructors that make boats nowadays that are not full of luxury items (big flat screen... fancy shower, expensive wood interior...). But instead could make a basic boat to live aboard and keep the price down...

Thanks for the feedback

With the depressed market in used, why don't you look at them, if price is an issue. There are some incredible values out there right now.

Re: Cheap (vs Luxury) constructors

Yes, I'm also open to used boats, only I would like to know if there are some constructors that focused more on building "useful" (cheap does not feel right here, but basic, the contrary of luxurious) boats that are made to live aboard, rather than fancy boats used a few times a year to show off if you see what I mean...
Thanks

Re: Cheap (vs Luxury) constructors

No manufacturer looks to make "cheap" boats, just ones that their buyers wanted. By Hunter doesn't have a TV and fancy boat and it isn't "cheap".

But you might take a look at makes that tend to get the hulls built by a yard and the interior fit out by the owner. Lots of these projects were to try to reduce costs. Boats like the Bruce Roberts boats, which if you did a search for weren't build by Bruce Roberts, justed designed by him.

Or look at any of the more mass produced boats!
