I have sailed on, and livedaboard both. There are a lot more monos out there, more places to dock, point better, one engine, cats usually two.multis can be tricky in large seas 30' ers . tris unless decked over not as roomy. Tri decked over tend to lift the windward hull more in strong winds. I really love tris, they are fast. Id go mono 40' plus.
